ABOUT

7-12 september

Whether you are a complete beginner, or have published work already, or just want to explore your creativity through writing, this is the perfect writing retreat for you. Led by experienced award winning writer, Amy Liptrot, the retreat will feature a mix of creative writing exercises, personal time to concentrate on your own writing, and one-to-one sessions with Amy where she will give focused feedback and advice.

We will spend as much time as possible outside and immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the beautiful and inspiring landscape. Eilean Shona house provides comfortable accommodation and delicious homemade food, with plenty of quiet spots for writing and reading. There will be time to share your own work if you wish, and those writers you love, and hear Amy read from her work and from other writers she admires.

Whether you write fiction or non-fiction, poetry or prose, memoirs or novels, the retreat is designed to draw on personal experience and memories, and our responses to nature and the environment around us, in order to sharpen skills and deepen the creative process. Shona inspired J M Barrie’s writing when he visited in the 1900’s - what better recommendation could there be!
